ST. LEO, Fla. | The UAH softball team split a doubleheader at Saint Leo on Friday evening with a 5-1 loss in the opener before winning 9-6 in the night cap. UAH moves to 4-5, while SLU's records is now 4-1.

UAH wraps up its tour of the Sunshine State with a doubleheader at Florida Southern on Saturday starting at 2 p.m. in Lakeland, Florida.

Game one: SLU 5, UAH 1
In the bottom of the sixth clinging to a one-run lead, Saint Leo rallied for three insurance runs as the Lions took the first matchup by a final score of 5-1.

The Chargers lone run of the contest came on an RBI single by
Kinley Adams, with the senior finishing the contest 2-for-4.

Adams was joined in a two-hit performance by
Brittany Slaten who went 2-for-3 with one run scored.

Katie Bracken started in the circle for the Chargers, turning in 6.0 innings with three earned runs allowed and four strikeouts. Her record slides to 1-2 with the loss.

Game two: UAH 9, SLU 6
The Chargers recorded a key three-run rally in the top of the fourth inning to take the lead for good in the 9-6 win to wrap up the doubleheader, as
Lawren Hayes highlighted the rally with a two-RBI single to right.

Hayes finished with a team-high three base hits and three RBI, after also driving in one run in the top of the third.

Sadie Thompson turned in a two-hit, two RBI performance in the finale at Saint Leo, while
Kylee Smith and
Jill Cockrell both notched doubles for both of UAH's extra-base hits in the contest.

Megan Shurtz helped UAH to the 2-3 victory out of the bullpen, working 7.0 innings with three runs allowed, zero walks and three strikeouts. Her record improves to 2-3 with the win.

UAH's nine runs scored are the most by the Chargers so far in 2025.
