HUNTSVILLE | The UAH baseball team won their series finale 10-5 against West Florida on Sunday in Gulf South Conference action at Charger Park after the game was moved from Toyota Field to the UAH campus due to weather conditions on Saturday.
The Chargers improved to 11-13 (5-10 GSC), while the Argos are now 15-9 (11-4 GSC) after Sunday's game.
The Chargers took a six-run lead early in Sunday's game as they scored six in the bottom of the second inning. They never surrendered the lead from that point on, adding four more runs by the end of the game.Â
Eight UAH batters notched hits in the game, with
Will Noles leading the way with a 3-for-5 afternoon.
Jayce Upton and
Braxton Griffin each had two RBI in the game, with Upton going 2-for-3 at the plate.Â
Jackson Lindsey homered for the second straight game as the senior hit a solo shot over the right field wall.
On the hill,
Cory Hagood got the start and pitched 6.1 innings. Hagood struck out five Argos and gave up three earned runs on his way to earning the win.
Ty Hutto pitched in relief of Hagood in the seventh inning and closed out the game as he gave up two earned runs and struck out five.Â
The Chargers will travel to Pulaski, Tennessee, to take on UT Southern on Tuesday, with Auburn Montgomery waiting next weekend for a three-game series at Charger Park.
