No. 3 Men's Basketball Headed to NCAA South Regional Final after Victory over Florida Southern Saturday

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. | The No. 3 UAH men's basketball team is headed to the 2025 NCAA Division II South Region Men's Basketball Championships title game after a 97-86 victory over third-seeded Florida Southern on Sunday in the semifinals at Rick Case Arena on the campus of Nova Southeastern University. UAH improves to 32-1, while FSC ends its season at 26-9.
 
UAH moves on to play the winner of tonight's matchup between first-seeded Nova Southeastern and fourth-seeded Lynn on Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT. More information on the 2025 NCAA Division II South Region Men's Basketball Championships.
 
The Chargers 32nd consecutive victory advances the team to the NCAA South Regional Championship game for the eighth time in program history and the third time in the last five seasons.
 
UAH's offense featured a balanced attack with four players scoring 16 points or more on Sunday, guided by Blake Campbell with 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the floor that included a 3-for-3 mark on three-pointers. This was Campbell's 12th game this season with 20 or more points.
 
The Chargers also saw Luke Burnett (21 points), Tommy Murr (21 points) and Daniel Saylor (16 points) reach double-digit points in the win. Murr additionally posted a team-high nine assists, while Saylor rated second on the squad with six rebounds.
 
Matt Thurman led the Chargers on the boards with a team-high 10 rebounds, which is a career-high for the junior.
 
First-year head coach Mick Hedgepeth's squad shot 50.7 percent (35-69) from the field and 43.5 percent (10-23) on three-pointers, while holding Florida Southern to 36.4 percent (32-88) on field goals.
 
UAH is amidst the program's 17th all-time appearance in the NCAA Division II tournament.
