FORT LAUDERDALE | The No. 3 UAH men's basketball team fell in the NCAA Division II South Region Championship on Tuesday evening 76-69 to top-seeded and No. 2 ranked Nova Southeastern at Rick Case Arena on the NSU campus.
The historic season for UAH ended in the region final as they posted a 32-2 overall record for the season and hold the longest-ever win streak in school history at 32 consecutive wins. NSU is now 33-1 on the year and will play in the Elite Eight in Evansville, Indiana.
The Sharks led the Chargers 29-12 with 10 minutes remaining in the first half, but UAH was not going down without a fight as the Chargers shrunk the lead to just five points by the end of the half.
NSU led wire-to-wire as the Chargers continued clawing back into the game as they cut the lead to 70-69 with just over two minutes remaining. Ultimately, the UAH comeback fell short in the final minutes as the Sharks scored six unanswered points to end the game.
Daniel Saylor had his second-highest scoring night ever with 22 points along with 14 rebounds and three blocks.
Blake Campbell scored 19 points on 5-for-13 shooting and a 3-for-7 mark from behind the arc. The graduate student also had six rebounds.
The Chargers conclude the 2024-25 season as the winningest team in program history with 32 wins, the highest scoring team in UAH history (88.0 PPG), and the highest win percentage in school history (94.1 percent).
