No. 3 Men's Basketball Set for NCAA South Regional Championships Showdown with No. 2 Nova Southeastern

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. | The No. 3 UAH men's basketball team is set to take on first-seeded and No. 2 ranked Nova Southeastern in the 2025 NCAA Division II South Region Men's Basketball Championships finals on Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT at Rick Case Arena on the NSU campus.
 
This is the UAH men's basketball program's eighth all-time appearance in the NCAA Division II South Regional Championship game and the third time in the last five seasons. The Chargers last won the NCAA South Region in the 2012 campaign.

UAH and Nova Southeastern will meet for the second time in program history in the NCAA South Regional title game, with the Sharks winning that matchup in 2023 by a score of 87-62.

UAH advanced to the regional title game after a 97-86 victory over third-seeded Florida Southern on Sunday, as Blake Campbell led the Chargers scoring with 26 points against the Mocs.
 
Campbell has been excellent in the postseason, posting 23 or more points in four consecutive post season games. He's gone 34-for-55 from the field over the last four games including a 30-point showing the NCAA tournament opener against Tampa. He's grown his season average to 16.9 points per game in the process.
 
Athens, Alabama, native Tommy Murr has also had an outstanding pair of performances in the NCAA South Regional, going for 44 overall points and 19 assists over UAH's two wins in the tournament. He enters Tuesday's matchup with a team-high 21.2 points per game.
 
UAH currently boasts the most potent offense in program history at 88.6 points per game, with the team featuring four veteran players with 1,000-plus points in their careers including Luke Burnett (1,941), Campbell (1,533), Murr (1,512) and Daniel Saylor (1,030).
 
Burnett additionally is four three-pointers away from breaking the NCAA Division II record of 451 career triples, while Saylor ranks first in the nation with a 73.9 field goal percentage and is also third all-time in UAH history with 163 blocks.
 
Nova Southeastern owns a 32-1 overall record, after defeating fifth-seeded Lynn by a score of 80-72 in the NCAA South Regional semifinals. The Sharks average 103.6 points per game, guided by MJ Iraldi with 23.6 points per contest.
 
UAH holds an all-time series record of 4-4 against Nova Southeastern, with the Sharks edging the Chargers 105-104 in overtime in the first game of the 2024-25 campaign on Nov. 8, 2024.
