HUNTSVILLE | The UAH softball team fell in both games of a doubleheader to No. 5 Auburn Montgomery both by scores of 8-0 on Saturday afternoon at Charger Park to wrap up a three-game Gulf South Conference series. UAH slides to 16-16 (9-9 GSC), while AUM rises to 20-7 (13-5 GSC).

UAH is back in action on Wednesday with a neutral-site doubleheader in Chattanooga, Tennessee, against nationally-ranked North Georgia.

Game one: AUM 8, UAH (6 innings)
The Chargers fell behind by three runs early with the Warhawks rallying for three in the top of the first, as the visitors continued to lead for the duration of their 8-0 win to open the doubleheader.

Brittany Slaten led UAH at the plate in a 2-for-3 performance, while
Jada Henderson drew a team-high two walks.

Katie Bracken recorded the lone extra-base hit for the Chargers with a double in the fourth inning.

Megan Shurtz started in the circle for the Chargers, turning in 4.0 inning with six runs allowed – two earned – and four strikeouts. Shurtz slides to 8-8 this season with the loss.

Game two: AUM 8, UAH 0
UAH and Auburn Montgomery had a tight 2-0 contest through the fifth inning until the Warhawks scored six runs over the final two innings to win it 8-0 in the series finale.

Slaten recorded her second multi-hit performance of the afternoon, going 2-for-3 in the last game of the doubleheader. Henderson also reached base twice again on a pair of walks.

Katie Bracken tossed the full 7.0 innings in the circle for the Chargers, allowing six earned runs and notching two strikeouts. Her record slips to 7-7 with the loss.
