Women's Basketball Set for GSC Tournament Semifinals Saturday in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The UAH women's basketball team competes in the semifinals of the 2025 Truist Gulf South Conference Women's Basketball Championships with a matchup against third-seeded Lee on Saturday at 2:15 p.m. on the campus of Samford University at the Pete Hanna Center.
 
The winner of Saturday's game moves on to play in the GSC tournament championship game on Sunday at 12 p.m. against the winner of No. 1 seed Union and No. 4 seed West Florida. More information on the 2025 Truist GSC Women's Basketball Championships.

UAH Athletics is hosting a watch party at Back Forty Beer Company on Leeman Ferry Road for both games on Saturday, with the women's game tipping off at 2:15 p.m. prior to the men's semifinal matchup at 5 p.m.
 
UAH advanced to the GSC tournament semifinals with a dominant 76-57 victory over Auburn Montgomery at Spragins Hall on Tuesday in the quarterfinals. The Chargers overall record now stands at 24-5, with the team achieving its most NCAA wins in program history thanks to Tuesday's victory.
 
First-year head coach Allen Sharpe's squad is guided by GSC Player of the Year Lili Wilken with a team-high 17.2 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game in her junior campaign. She posted 19 points and five rebounds against AUM in her first GSC tournament appearance.
 
Alexis Woods went over 1,000 points in her career during Tuesday's game, as she had a stellar 19-point, 16-rebound performance against the Warhawks for her second double-double of the season.
 
Overall, UAH ranks second in the GSC in both points per game (73.7) and points allowed per game (58.7) heading into the GSC tournament semifinals.
 
Lee comes into Birmingham with a 24-5 overall record as well in the 2024-25 campaign, after defeating sixth-seeded Mississippi College at home on Tuesday by a score of 64-61 to earn a trip to the GSC tournament semifinals. The Flames average 68.0 points per game this season, guided by Mallory Hampton with 17.1 points per contest.
 
UAH holds an all-time series record of 6-20 against Lee, with the Flames also owning a 1-0 record over the Chargers in GSC tournament matchups. The two teams last matched up in the GSC championships in 2019's quarterfinal round.
 
This is the UAH women's basketball program's fourth time appearing in the GSC tournament semifinals and the 14th all-time appearance in the GSC tournament.
