BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The top-seeded UAH men's basketball team won a 2025 Truist Gulf South Conference Championship semifinal game against No. 5 seed Delta State 84-66 on Saturday evening at the Pete Hanna Center in Birmingham on the campus of Samford University.
Saturday night's win marked UAH's 29th straight victory. The No. 3 team in the country outrebounded the Statesmen 38-to-28 and used the advantage to vault them to the 18 point victory.
Tommy Murr and
Blake Campbell combined for 55 points in the win, as Campbell totaled eight assists. The Charger backcourt duo also went 17-for-18 from the free throw line as Murr went 7-for-8 and Campbell went 10-for-10.
Daniel Saylor dominated in the paint with 13 rebounds and rejected five Delta State shots. The Charger big man additionally scored eight points in the win.
Auston Leslie added seven rebounds off the bench and scored four points for the Blue & White.
The Chargers outpaced the Statesmen in the paint with a 36-to-26 points in the paint advantage along with a slight 10-to-8 fastbreak point advantage.
UAH will face off with the winner of Saturday's game between second-seeded Valdosta State and third-seeded Montevallo. The Chargers will play in Sunday's GSC Championship game at 3 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center.
