HUNTSVILLE | The UAH softball team secured its third straight Gulf South Conference series win with a 2-0 victory over Mississippi College in Saturday's series finale at Charger Park. UAH improves to 24-18 (16-10 GSC), while MC slides to 30-13 (18-9 GSC).

Megan Shurtz was stellar in the circle for the Chargers in the series finale, as the Madison, Alabama, native shut out the Choctaws over 7.0 innings on Saturday. She issued only three hits and one walk, while striking out six batters.

Her record rises to 11-8 with the victory.

Sadie Thompson highlighted the UAH offense with a go-ahead, two-run home run in the top of the fourth, which carried the Chargers to the 2-0 victory over the Choctaws.

Lawren Hayes posted a team-high two base hits on Saturday, as one of the seniors two hits went for a double.

UAH is back in action with its final regular season road series at Trevecca Nazarene next Friday and Saturday.
