Box Score 2 NASHVILLE | The UAH softball team opened a three-game Gulf South Conference series at Trevecca Nazarene with a doubleheader split on Friday with a 3-2 loss in 10 innings in the first game followed by a 6-5 victory in game two. UAH's overall record is now 25-19 (17-11 GSC), while TNU moves to 26-14 (15-14 GSC).

The Chargers and Trojans wrap up the three-game set on Saturday at 12 p.m.

Game one: TNU 3, UAH 2 (10 innings)
UAH and Trevecca were knotted 1-1 through the ninth inning, when the Chargers scored once in the top of the 10th before the Trojans won on a walk off with two runs in the bottom half for a final score of 3-2.

Lawren Hayes led the Chargers with a team-high two base hits and one RBI, as the senior drove in the first run for UAH in the fourth inning on an RBI single. Hayes also had a double in the contest.

Alexa Douthitt drove in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning on a sac fly, while
Sadie Thompson gave the Chargers two extra-base hits in the opener with a double in the fourth.

Katie Bracken tossed the full 9.2 innings of the series-opener, allowing two earned runs with 12 strikeouts. She has recorded 10 or more strikeouts in five games this season.

Game two: UAH 6, TNU 5
The Chargers came from behind to capture the doubleheader finale with a two-RBI single by
Maddie Cartron in the top of the seventh that lifted UAH to a 6-5 win in game two on Friday.

UAH recorded seven base hits as a team against TNU, led by
Brittany Slaten who went 2-for-4 with a team-high two runs scored.

Hayes, Thompson and
Jill Cockrell each additionally notched one base hit and one RBI against the Trojans.

Megan Shurtz went the distance in the circle in the 6-5 victory, working 7.0 innings with five earned runs allowed and four strikeouts. Her recorded improves to 12-8 with the win.
