HUNTSVILLE | The UAH softball team earned the Gulf South Conference series sweep of Union by a final score of 5-1 in the weekend finale on Saturday. UAH improves to 22-17 (14-9 GSC), while UU slides to 8-32 (5-18 GSC).

The Chargers opened up the game with a three-run top of the first, as UAH would hold the lead for the rest of the contest to win it 5-1 on Saturday.

Katie Bracken tossed a complete-game in the circle, as the Decatur, Alabama, native went 7.0 innings with one run allowed and four strikeouts to improve to 10-7 on the year.

UAH had six base hits as a team, with
Sadie Thompson leading the way with two base hits and one RBI.
Gracie Ashley recorded the lone extra-base hit for the Chargers with a double in her only hit of the afternoon.

Alexa Douthitt and
Lawren Hayes reached base on three occasions in the win, as both players drew three walks against the Bulldogs.

The Chargers are back at Charger Park next weekend with a three-game GSC series slated against Mississippi College.
