OWENSBORO, Ky. | The UAH women's soccer team scored twice in the second half to defeat Kentucky Wesleyan 2-0 on Sunday. With the win, the Chargers improve their season record to 1-1-1, while the Panthers remain winless.
UAH began the scoring in the 48th minute as Carley White scored off an assist from Evelina Gustafsson. Sabrina Da Silva added a late goal in the 82nd minute, assisted by Carley White, to seal the 2-0 victory.
The Chargers outshot Kentucky Wesleyan 19-8, including eight shots on goal. UAH's defense held the Panthers scoreless despite two shots on goal and six corner opportunities. UAH goalkeeper Kacey Powell made two saves to preserve the clean sheet.
The Chargers will now turn their focus to a conference matchup against Lee on September 19th at 5 p.m., aiming to carry their momentum forward.
