HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Women's basketball extended their winning streak to 17 games with a 79–67 victory over West Florida on Saturday night at SportsMED Arena inside Spragins Hall.
UAH remains undefeated in Gulf South Conference play at 13-0 and perfect at home this season with a 10-0 record.
The Argonauts delivered one of the toughest challenges of UAH's 17-game run. The Chargers led by two at the end of the first quarter, and the game was tied 43-43 at halftime. West Florida carried a two-point advantage into the fourth quarter before UAH took control late, holding the Argos to just eight points in the final frame while scoring 22 of its own to pull away.
Four Chargers finished in double figures, led by Lili Wilken's 24 points. Paris Opelt added 13 points, Chloe Siegel scored 12, and Bella White recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 assists.
UAH will hit the road next week, traveling to Cleveland, Tennessee, on Thursday, Jan. 29, to face Lee at 5:30 p.m. CT. The Chargers will then head to Nashville on Saturday, Jan. 31, to take on Trevecca at 2 p.m. CT.
UAH returns home to SportsMED Arena inside Spragins Hall on Thursday, Feb. 5, to host Delta State at 5:30 p.m. CT.
