CLEVELAND, Tenn. | The UAH men's basketball team went on the road in Gulf South Conference play to take on Lee on Thursday evening and came away with a 80-76 victory over the Flames.
The Chargers improved to 14-6 (9-5 GSC) with the victory, while the Flames dropped to 9-9 (6-8 GSC).Â
In a truly back-and-forth contest throughout the first half, Lee held a 41-40 advantage into the halftime break before UAH came out in the second half with a 10-to-3 run to start the period.Â
UAH posted the largest lead of the game at six points. The Flames and Chargers exchanged the lead throughout the second half, before
Knute Wood hit a go-ahead three pointer with 1:07 remaining in the game to put UAH up 78-76.
Quentin Toles led the Chargers in scoring with 24 points, while
Thomas Allard had 16 points with seven rebounds and nine assists. Wood added 11 points and
Jordan Mabe rounded out the Blue & White's double-digit scorers with 10.Â
The Chargers used a 38-to-24 advantage in the paint to propel them to the win.Â
