Women's Lacrosse Prepared for Season Opener

HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's lacrosse team faces off in their first contest of 2026 on Friday, January 30 in Anderson, S.C. against Anderson University at 1 p.m. (2 p.m. EST) The Chargers wrapped up their 2025 campaign with a 7-11 record overall and a 2-2 record in Gulf South Conference play.

Last season, the Chargers held the second-highest goals per game total in the GSC with 12.83 goals per match. Additionally, they had the second-highest total of shots on goal per game with 22.06. 

Returning to action for UAH are their top two goal scorers in Sarah Cole and Corinne Baker. Cole totaled 50 goals in 2025, while Baker had 34. The Blue & White also return Ella Rutherford and Maya Bronson who hauled in the second and third-most ground balls on the squad last season.

Sydney Schiavone, Cole, and Rutherford each earned Preseason All-GSC honors ahead of the 2026 campaign. 

The matchup between UAH and Anderson will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs and will be the first official game of the 2026 season in all of NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse. The Trojans finished 10-8 last season. 

Following the season-opener, UAH will head to Daytona Beach, Florida, to take on Embry-Riddle on February 7.
