The Chargers most recently competed at the Lewis Crossover in Romeoville, Illinois, but have finished in the Top 10 in their previous two meets. At the Memphis Twilight, both the men's and women's sides finished sixth overall while the men took seventh and the women 10th at the Florida State Pre-Regional in September.

In Illinois, Dakota Frank paced the men's side with a time of 25:36.5 in the 8k while freshman Rose Betts led UAH for the second time this season with a 23:10.4 in the 6k race. Conner Patterson was close on the heels of Frank with a 25:36.6 while Lindsey Barnes was just 1.5 seconds behind Betts. The Chargers' top seven runners on both the women's and men's sides finished in the Top 150 of all racers at the Lewis Crossover.

John Hunt Park features a championship caliber cross-country course that is a 10-meter wide, manicured grass surface course with multiple spurred loops providing various distance options including 2-mile, 5K, 6K, 8K, and 10K. The course is located on the south side of John Hunt Park and accommodates high school, NCAA, and USA Track & Field needs for all their various training and competition events.

After Saturday's race, UAH looks ahead to the start of the postseason with the 2024 Gulf South Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 26 in Clinton, Mississippi, on the campus of Mississippi College.
