Prescott Hull scored in double overtime Friday night to lift the University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Lee and send the Chargers to the Gulf South Conference championship match for the first time in program history.
Hull delivered the golden goal at the 101:40 mark, just 1:40 into the second overtime period, to break the scoreless tie and clinch UAH's (9-7-1, 5-5-1) berth in Sunday's final.
CeCe Szopa anchored the shutout with six saves, including four in the first half. UAH's defense kept Lee (12-2-3, 8-1-2) off the scoreboard throughout regulation and allowed just one shot across the two overtime periods, setting the stage for Hull's winner.
The Chargers will pursue their first GSC tournament title at noon Sunday, Nov. 8, at Loretta P. Spencer Field 2 at John Hunt Park in Huntsville.
