HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Women's Basketball returns to SportsMED Arena inside Spragins Hall this week to host Auburn Montgomery and Montevallo in a pair of Gulf South Conference matchups as the Chargers continue their push toward the postseason.
General admission to all UAH women's basketball regular season home games is free this season courtesy of Bentley Buick GMC.
UAH enters the week with a 23-4 overall record and an 18-1 mark in conference play. The Chargers have won five straight games and 22 of their last 23 contests while remaining undefeated at home this season with a 12-0 record.
Last Saturday, UAH clinched its first Gulf South Conference regular season championship in program history, securing home-court advantage throughout the upcoming GSC Tournament.
The Chargers have been dominant on both ends of the floor this season. UAH ranks second in the conference in scoring at 75.6 points per game and leads the GSC in field goal percentage (.456) and 3-point shooting percentage (.362). Defensively, UAH leads the conference in scoring defense, allowing just 58.5 points per game, and ranks third in field goal percentage defense at 38.1%.
Individually, Lili Wilken continues to lead the conference in scoring at 21.7 points per game and in steals with 64, while also ranking second in made free throws with 102. Millie Brown enters the week fourth in the GSC with 49 made 3-pointers.
UAH will first host Auburn Montgomery on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 5:30 p.m. before welcoming Montevallo on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m.
Auburn Montgomery Preview
Auburn Montgomery enters Thursday's contest with a 3-21 overall record and a 3-15 mark in conference play, including a 2-11 record on the road. The Warhawks average 59.7 points per game while allowing 76.0.
Samya Brooks leads Auburn Montgomery in scoring at 14.8 points per game, while Tamora Brown adds 13.8 points per contest and leads the GSC in free throws made with 106. Navaeh Small ranks third in the conference in rebounding, averaging 8.9 rebounds per game.
Montevallo Preview
Montevallo brings a 5-18 overall record and a 4-14 conference mark into Saturday's matchup, including a 2-8 road record.
The Falcons are led by freshman Emily Mouser, a Huntsville native and Madison Academy graduate, who averages 12.2 points per game. Mouser recently earned her fourth GSC Freshman of the Week honor and leads the conference in free throw percentage at .924.
UAH will first host Auburn Montgomery on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 5:30 p.m. before welcoming Montevallo on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m.
