HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The UAH Chargers baseball dropped the opener of a three-game Gulf South Conference series Friday afternoon, falling 11–4 to Lee Flames baseball at Charger Park.

The loss marked UAH's first conference defeat of the season and moved the Chargers to 4-7 overall and 3-1 in GSC play.

Cole Loftis made the start for UAH, pitching four innings while allowing six earned runs and striking out four. Loftis was charged with the loss and is now 1-1 on the season.

Despite the setback, several Chargers turned in strong offensive performances. Caleb Mahan went 2-for-2 with a walk, an RBI, and a run scored. CJ Carson added two hits and an RBI, continuing his consistent play at the plate. Braxton Griffin finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and a sacrifice fly.

UAH will return to Charger Park on Saturday, Feb. 21, for a doubleheader to conclude the series. First pitch for Game 2 is scheduled for noon CT, with the series finale set to begin 30 minutes following the conclusion of the opening game.
