Baseball Drops Doubleheader at Charger Park

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Baseball dropped both games of a Gulf South Conference doubleheader Saturday at Charger Park, falling to Lee Flames baseball by scores of 16–9 and 12–5.

The losses moved UAH to 4-9 overall and 3-3 in GSC play.

Game 1: Lee 16, UAH 9

UAH opened the day with a strong start, jumping out to a 3–0 lead in the first inning when Aiden Kashuba delivered a bases-clearing double.

Lee responded with two runs in the second inning and three more in the third to take the lead, but the Chargers answered with a five-run third inning. Luke Songy highlighted the rally with a two-run single, while Ian Reagan added a two-run double as UAH briefly regained control.

The Chargers added a run in the eighth inning when Broddee Bartlett scored on an RBI single by Caleb Mahan, but Lee pulled away to secure the 16–9 victory.

Game 2: Lee 12, UAH 5

Lee struck early in the second game, scoring two runs in the opening inning before UAH responded in the second. The Chargers plated four runs in the inning, with Broddee Bartlett and Jayce Upton among those crossing the plate. Gavin Galenza drove in a run and finished the game with two hits.

UAH added its final run in the seventh inning when Eli Wells scored on a passed ball, but Lee maintained control throughout the later innings to complete the doubleheader sweep with a 12–5 win.

Up Next

UAH will begin a five-game road trip Tuesday with a non-conference matchup at Tuskegee. The Chargers will then travel to Valdosta, Georgia, for a three-game Gulf South Conference series against Valdosta State next weekend before closing the trip March 3 with a road contest against UT Southern.
