HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The UAH men's lacrosse team dropped 10-7 to Palm Beach Atlantic on Thursday night at John Hunt Park. The Chargers move to 3-5 on the season, while the Sailfish improve to 3-2.

UAH struck first with back-to-back goals from Jake Bertils and Chris Aiello in the opening minutes of the first quarter. After Palm Beach Atlantic answered with two goals to tie the game at 2-2, the Sailfish seized momentum in the second period, scoring three unanswered goals to take a 5-2 lead into halftime.

The Chargers responded in the third quarter, highlighted by goals from Aydan Weiszhar and Makai Hillmon, but Palm Beach Atlantic used a four-goal surge to extend their lead to 9-3.

UAH mounted a late push in the fourth quarter. Zach Hulbert opened the scoring in the period, Logan Pinkerton converted on an extra-man opportunity off an assist from Aiello, and Bertils added his second goal of the night to trim the deficit to 9-7. However, a late goal from the Sailfish halted the comeback bid and secured the 10-7 final.

Bertils led the Chargers with two goals and two assists, while Hulbert, Hillmon, Weiszhar, Aiello, and Pinkerton each found the back of the net once. Goalkeeper Jake Sander recorded 14 saves in the contest.

As a team, UAH totaled 28 shots with 16 on goal, collected 37 ground balls, went 22-of-31 on clears, won nine faceoffs, and finished 1-for-2 on extra-man opportunities.

The UAH men's lacrosse team returns home on Saturday, March 7, hosting its next contest at Charger Park with opening faceoff set for 12 p.m.
