Unbeaten at Home, Women’s Basketball Hosts Key GSC Games

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Women's Basketball returns home this week for a two-game Gulf South Conference homestand at SportsMED Arena inside Spragins Hall. General admission to all UAH women's basketball regular season home games is free this season courtesy of Bentley Buick GMC.

UAH will host Delta State on Thursday, Feb. 5, at 5:30 p.m., followed by Mississippi College on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 2 p.m. Saturday's contest will serve as Military Appreciation Day, presented by AUSA and Radiance Technologies.

The Chargers enter the weekend with a 19-4 overall record and a 14-1 mark in conference play. UAH is undefeated at home this season (10-0) and holds a three-game lead atop the GSC standings.

Offensively, UAH ranks second in the conference in scoring at 75.2 points per game and leads the league in team field goal percentage (45.5%) and 3-point field goal percentage (36%).

Lili Wilken continues to pace the Chargers, averaging 21.7 points per game. She leads the GSC in scoring and ranks fourth nationally in Division II. Wilken is also second in the conference in free throw percentage at 87.1%.

Bella White ranks third in the GSC in assists with 81, while Millie Brown is third in the conference in 3-point field goals made with 44.

Thursday Against Delta State

 Delta State enters Thursday's matchup with an 11-8 overall record and a 9-5 mark in conference play. The Lady Statesmen are 3-6 on the road and bring a three-game winning streak into Huntsville. Delta State boasts the top scoring defense in the GSC, allowing just 58.9 points per game.

The Lady Statesmen also protect the basketball well, averaging 13.9 turnovers per game, the second-best mark in the conference behind UAH's 11.9.

Saturday Against Mississippi College 

Mississippi College enters Saturday's game at 8-11 overall and 7-7 in conference play, including a 1-7 record on the road. The Choctaws average 65.3 points per game (eighth in the GSC) and allow 71.9 points per contest (11th).

Mississippi College is led by Nia Coleman (13.3 PPG) and Valencia McFall (12.8 PPG).
