Men's Lacrosse Drops Road Matchup with Catawba

SALISBURY, N.C. | UAH men's lacrosse fell to Catawba 20-9 in a road game on Saturday at Shuford Stadium.

The Chargers struggled to keep up with Catawba, as the Indians built an early lead. Aydan Weiszhar led UAH with three goals, while Jake Bertils scored twice. John Alit, Carson Kingsbury, Harrison Skinner, and Logan Pinkerton each added one goal.

Kingsbury scored UAH's first goal towards the end of the first quarter, but Catawba responded with a goal from Tanner Stout to make it 5-1. In the second quarter, UAH's John Alit scored on a man-up opportunity, but Catawba answered with six goals, leading 11-2 at halftime. UAH fought back in the third, with Weiszhar and Bertils scoring to make it 17-5. However, Catawba continued to extended its lead. UAH scored four goals in the final period, but Catawba finished strong to seal the 20-9 win.

Goalkeepers Tommy Peer and Jake Sander combined for 13 saves, but UAH was outpaced in ground balls (37-18) and committed 20 turnovers to Catawba's 17. UAH did find success on man-up opportunities, converting 2 of 4 chances.

The Chargers will look to bounce back in their next game against Flagler on Saturday, March 21, at 12 p.m. at Charger Park.
