No. 24 Women's Lacrosse Set to Open GSC Play Against Virginia State

HUNTSVILLE | The No. 24 UAH women's lacrosse will welcome Virginia State to Charger Park on Wednesday evening for their first Gulf South Conference matchup of the season at 6 p.m. The meeting is the first ever between the two teams with the Trojans joining the conference this season.

Attendance to all regular season contests at Charger Park are free this season, courtesy of Alabama Credit Union. 

The Chargers are coming off of a 14-6 victory against Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday and are currently 4-6 on the year, with all of their defeats coming at the hands of ranked opponents. 

UAH is led by the reigning GSC Freshman of the Week Olivia Rewers in points thus far this season as she has totaled 35 points on 25 goals and 10 assists. Ella Rutherford has totaled 21 points on 10 goals and 11 assists, while Sarah Cole has tallied 19 points on 14 goals and five assists.

Virginia State visits Huntsville with a 2-4 (0-1 GSC) record this season and most recently dropped a matchup against Montevallo 20-4. The Trojans are led in points by Carea Tuck who has posted 17 on the year with 12 goals a five assists. 

Following the GSC opener, the Chargers will travel to Mount Olive, N.C. for their final non-conference game on Saturday, March 21 at 10 a.m.
