HUNTSVILLE | The No. 24 UAH women's lacrosse team faced off with Gulf South Conference opponent Montevallo at Charger Park on Saturday on Senior Day in their final regular season home game of the season and came away with a victory over the Falcons 18-5.
UAH improved to 7-7 (3-0 GSC) on the year, while Montevallo dropped to 3-9 (1-1 GSC).
The Chargers got off to a hot start in their regular season home finale as they put up four unanswered goals before the Falcons got on the board. They tallied 10 goals in the first half and took a 10-2 lead into the halftime break.
After the half, UAH outscored Montevallo 8-to-3 to seal the 18-5 victory.
Olivia Rewers highlighted the Charger offense with six points in the game as she put up five goals and an assist. Additionally she had three ground balls and caused three turnovers.
Ella Rutherford,
Sarah Cole, and
Maya Bronson each put up three points apiece with Rutherford and Cole each netting three goals. Bronson had one goal and two assists in the win.
Sydney Schiavone totaled two ground balls and caused one turnover along with a goal for the Chargers.
The Chargers will head to Young Harris, Georgia, on Tuesday at 3 p.m. to take on Young Harris.
