ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. | The No. 24 UAH women's lacrosse team visited No. 1 Flagler on Saturday morning in Gulf South Conference action and fell 18-7 in the regular season finale.
The Chargers dropped to 9-8 overall and 4-1 in conference play, while Flagler improved to 17-0 and remained unbeaten at 5-0 in the GSC.
UAH burst out to a 4-3 lead after the first quarter, with
Olivia Rewers opening the scoring unassisted at 10:38 before
Maya Bronson and
Kate Simoncic each added goals to give the Chargers a lead.
Noelle Coleman closed the quarter with a goal assisted by Rewers to put UAH ahead heading into the second quarter.
Flagler would go on to outscore the Chargers 15-4 over the final three quarters to ultimately take the contest.
Rewers led UAH offensively with four goals and one assist for five points. Bronson added a goal and an assist, while Simoncic and Coleman each contributed one goal.
The Chargers will hold the No. 2 seed in the GSC Women's Lacrosse Championship which will be in Huntsville, Alabama on Friday, April 24 at John Hunt Park. UAH will take on the No. 3 seed, who is yet to be determined, at 2 p.m.
