HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The UAH men's lacrosse team fell on the road Friday afternoon, dropping 19-9 to Montevallo in a semifinal matchup of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament.
Montevallo seized control early, opening first quarter with a 7-0 lead. Despite goals from Zach Hulbert and Jake Hughes to put UAH on the board, the Falcons continued to apply pressure in the second period, extending their advantage to 13-2 at halftime.
The Chargers responded with a stronger third quarter, matching Montevallo with four goals in the third quarter. Hulbert added two to his total, while Harrison Skinner and Logan Pinkerton each found the back of the net. UAH continued to battle in the fourth, outscoring Montevallo 3-2 behind a strong showing from Carter Henninger, who scored all three of his goals in the period. However, the early deficit was too much to overcome as Montevallo secured the 19-9 final to move on to the Championship game.
Hulbert and Henninger led the Chargers with three goals apiece, while Hughes, Skinner, and Pinkerton each added one.
Montevallo featured a balanced offensive attack with 10 different goal scorers, led by Cameron Diehl and Matthew Boas with four goals each.
Despite the final score, UAH remained competitive in several statistical categories, recording 43 shots compared to Montevallo's 55, including 22 shots on goal. The Chargers also collected 39 ground balls and went 18-of-26 on clears.
The Chargers turn the page with confidence, set to return in 2027 ready to climb back into title contention once again.
