MEMPHIS, Tenn. | The UAH softball team dropped the series finale at Christian Brothers on Friday in Memphis, falling 3-2 in nine innings in a Gulf South Conference matchup.
UAH finishes at 34-20 (18-15 GSC), while CBU finished 12-34-1 (7-26 GSC).Â
Alexa Douthitt provided all of UAH's offense with a two-run home run in the third inning. Jill Cockrell drew three walks and scored one of the two runs, and Kylie Ballentine went 2-for-4.
CBUÂ scored single runs in the third, seventh, and ninth innings to take the victory.
Katie Bracken started and worked four innings, allowing one run on one hit while striking out six. Megan Shurtz relieved in the fifth and took the loss, finishing with 4.2 innings of work. Shurtz falls to 13-8 on the season.
Next up for the Chargers is the GSC Softball Championship on May 6. Their seeding and opponent at the conference tournament has yet to be determined.
