BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Senior Carley White was named to the 2026 Gulf South Conference Women's Soccer Preseason Team as the league announced its preseason awards and coaches poll Monday.

White returns for the Chargers after leading UAH with four goals during the 2025 season, including three game-winners. The senior midfielder/forward also added two assists last year during her second season in Huntsville.

Freshmen AC Blackaby and Tuva Lundström were also recognized by the conference as GSC Newcomers to Watch. Blackaby, a midfielder/forward from Cleveland, Tennessee, joins the Chargers for her first collegiate season, while Lundström joins UAH as a midfielder from Stockholm, Sweden.

UAH was picked seventh in the GSC preseason coaches poll. Lee earned the top spot with 10 first-place votes and 120 points, followed by Montevallo and West Alabama. Delta State, Mississippi Christian and Valdosta State rounded out the top six ahead of the Chargers.

UAH enters the 2026 campaign after posting a 6-9-2 record last season.

The Chargers open the season Aug. 28 against Illinois Springfield at 4 p.m. at Charger Park.
