For the first time since September 5, the University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team is back home as the Chargers (10-2, 2-1 GSC) host Montevallo (9-3, 3-0) in Gulf South Conference play.

UAH returns to Huntsville after going 2-1 to start conference play, earning 3-0 and 3-1 wins against Christian Brothers and Union, respectively, before being edged out in a 2-3 loss at Trevecca Nazarene on Tuesday.

The Chargers and Falcons will play at 6 p.m. on Friday at SportsMED Arena in Spragins Hall in a matchup of Top 3 teams in the GSC standings.

In the Chargers' latest outing at Trevecca, Cooper Garrett and Carlee Lowry each hit double digit kills with 14 and 12, respectively. Garrett also added 20 assists while Anna Clare Hutto led UAH with 25. Libero Brooklyn Stiles led UAH in digs with 33.

For the season, UAH sits atop the GSC standings in blocks per set with a 2.43 average, good for 13th nationally, while Montevallo is ninth in the GSC with an average of 1.35. Both sides are nearly even in assists per set with UAH at 11.55 and Montevallo at 11.43.

Both sides are among the top teams in the GSC in kills per set as UAH leads the conference at 12.93 while Montevallo averages 12.43.

Individually, Emily Redman is tied for second in the conference in aces per set with a 0.55, Garrett is fourth in assists per set with a 5.71, and Mary Grace Bundrant is second in blocks per set with 1.13.

For the Falcons, Ava Wind is third in the GSC in digs per set with 4.80 while Katie Wilkerson is fifth in kills per set at 2.70.

UAH leads the all-time series against Montevallo, 31-24, though the Falcons earned the win in the last meeting between the two, 1-3, at Montevallo. The Chargers own a 17-7 record at home all-time against the Falcons.
