Spencer Palmer is in his fourth season overall as an assistant for the Chargers following a four-year playing career on the Kelly Court at Spragins Hall hardwood.
Palmer spent a portion of the 2016-17 season with UAH and then worked for a year at Flagler before returning home to his alma mater for the 2018-19 campaign.
With Palmer on the sideline, UAH has advanced to a pair of NCAA tournaments including hosting the NCAA South Regional in 2017 following a GSC tournament title.
The Chargers also qualifed for the NCAA tournament in 2020, but that event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During Palmer’s playing career, the Chargers went 88-36 and won a GSC tournament championship in 2015. UAH went to three NCAA tournaments during his tenure, reaching the final in both 2013 and 2016, and Huntsville was the site of the 2016 regional. Strong in the classroom, Palmer was a three-time GSC Academic Honor Roll selection.
Palmer graduated from UAH with a bachelor’s in history in December of 2015.
