Connor McGowan is in his fifth season as the head coach of the Chargers, joining UAH following a stint as assistant men's lacrosse coach at Birmingham-Southern.
In the most recent campaign, McGowan mentored two players to all-GLVC status including the program's first-ever First Team All-GLVC selection in Colton Nall.
The 2018 season was the first of conference affiliation for the Chargers who earned a spot in the 2018 Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship Tournament, and the squad had 10 earn all-GLVC status including a pair of second team choices and eight honorable mention honorees.
Prior to his time at Birmingham-Southern, McGowan assisted the Transylvania University men's lacrosse team and was the first assistant coach in the program's history. He helped guide Transylvania to a 16-12 record in two years and assisted a defense that averaged 8.9 goals against per game, along with holding responsibilities as Intramurals Director.
Before transitioning to Transylvania, McGowan made his first collegiate coaching stop at Birmingham-Southern as an assistant in the 2011-12 campaign, and aided the program to its first conference championship and NCAA tournament appearance.
McGowan graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2009 with a bachelor of arts after a four-year career on the lacrosse team, where he made the NCAA tournament each year.
