Joe Turner is in his second season with the Chargers, and he comes to Huntsville after spending four seasons at Wingate.

During Turner's first season at UAH, the Chargers reached the championship game of the Peach Belt Conference tournament, and the squad featrued five all-PBC selections including the PBC Freshman of the Year.

While at Wingate, Turner served as the program's offensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator, and social media coordinator, and he helped lead the team to three straight South Atlantic Conference championships from 2017-19. In 2017 and 2019, the team reached the NCAA tournament, and under his mentorship, the pgoram featured three USILA All-Americans, a SAC Player of the Year, and 13 all-conference choices. 
 
Stops prior to Wingate for Turner included two years at his alma mater Dowling and a pair of seasons at St. Thomas. 
 
 As a player at Dowling, he helped his team reach a pair of NCAA tournaments including winning the Division II national championship in 2012, and he served as a team captain during his senior season.
