Keith Giboney is entering his third season as head coach of the UAH volleyball program, after arriving on campus in January of 2013.

Giboney saw his squad take a step forward in his second year in the 2014 season, as the Chargers went 16-13 and 10-10 in the league to earn the team's second consecutive berth to the GSC Tournament. Ashton Baker and Anna Claire Johnson were standouts from the 2014 season, with both student-atheltes named to the All-GSC Second Team.

In 2013, Coach Giboney saw his Chargers defeat North Alabama in both meetings, marking the first time UAH has won in Florence since 1994. He helped coach Stacey Sargent and Olivia Bauman to All-GSC honors, while also defeating Division I-rival Alabama A&M at home.

“We are extremely excited about bringing Coach Giboney to Huntsville,” said UAH Director of Athletics Dr. E. J. Brophy. “To be able to bring a person of his caliber in to lead our volleyball program is something that we are looking forward to, and we hope that he will take us to new heights in the very near future.”

No stranger to the Gulf South Conference, Giboney brings a wealth of both success and experience to UAH after spending 13 seasons at former GSC member Harding University.

While at Harding, Giboney compiled an impressive 337-112 record, including a 125-21 record in conference play. He won seven league titles and was also named GSC West Division Coach of the Year five times in that time allowing him to earn the distinction of being honored as the GSC West Division Coach of the Decade.

Giboney mentored 43 All-GSC players during his time in Searcy, Ark., and he coached the GSC West Division Player of the Year in 2004, 2008 and 2009.

Under Giboney's direction, Harding made it to 13 straight GSC tournaments and also made it to the NCAA tournament a total of four times. From 2002 through 2007, Harding won six straight regular season division titles.

His coaching career began back in 1993 at Lubbock Christian High School and within four years of being there, he guided the program to three state championships and amassed a 110-25 record.  In 1997, Giboney became the head coach at Dallas Chrisitian, where in two seasons he went 60-18 and won a fourth state title. Giboney was twice named Texas All-Star coach.

Keith and his wife, Michal, have two daughters, Emily and Abbey.
