No. 1 UAH Travels To Florida To Face Rollins, Barry

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. –
The No. 1 University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team is set to take on a pair of nationally-ranked opponents from the state of Florida this weekend as the Chargers will travel to take on No.19 Rollins on Friday before turning around to battle 13th-ranked Barry on Saturday. UAH enters the weekend with a perfect 11-0 record.
 
The start time for Friday's doubleheader is set for 5 p.m. CST, while Saturday's pair will get underway at 3 p.m. CST. Both sets will take place at Rollins.
 
The Chargers feature the best offense in the land as they have compiled a .433 batting average as a team, and the Blue and White also rank third in home runs per game, sixth in doubles per game, and first in slugging percentage.
 
Featuring three of the top 25 players nationally in batting average, the squad is led by Kelli Long who sits fourth in the nation as she is impressively hitting at .533 on the season with both Abby MacKay and Cortney McNett tied for 23rd with an average of .464.
 
Several other Chargers rank in the top 10 in other categories including the following: Stephanie Needham (3rd in home runs per game, 0.64), Kathryn Whitlock (9th in home runs per game, 0.45), Needham (9th in RBI per game, 1.73), Long (6th in stolen bases per game, 1.0), Needham (4th in slugging percentage, 1.08), McNett (6th in slugging percentage, 1.04), Mary Kelley (9th in runs per game, 1.36), Needham (4th in home runs, 7), Long (8th in triples, 2.0), Long (8th in on-base percentage, .605).
 
The Chargers own an 8-3 advantage in the all-time series with the Tars while posting a 17-12 mark against Barry.
 
Rollins has won its last six and enters the game with a record of 12-3, while Barry is 16-3 having won 12 of its last 13 contests.
