PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville tennis teams each fell on the road on Thursday as both squads by a 6-3 score to Martin Methodist. The ladies fall to 4-4 with the setback while the men drop to 1-4.
On the women's side,
Kasi McDonald and
Amanda Bevis teamed up for the team's lone point in doubles action as they won 8-5.
In singles play, the Lady Chargers picked up points from the No. 5 and No. 6 positions as
Alejandra Pacheco won 6-4, 6-1, and
Adriana Buitrago was a 6-3,6-2 winner.
In men's play, all three points came in singles contests as No. 2 Christopher Kano won 6-2, 4-6, 6-1, and No. 3 Raphael Oliveira battled back from a deficit to win 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 an exciting match at the No. 3 position. The other point for the Chargers came from the fifth position as Guillermo Reyes was a 7-5, 4-6, 10-6 winner.
The teams will return to action on Saturday as they take on Stillman in Tuscaloosa at 10 a.m.
