HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team is set to open Gulf South Conference play this weekend as they travel to Christian Brothers for a 7:30 p.m. contest Friday night before hitting the road for a 3 p.m. match on Sunday at Delta State.
 
UAH enters the weekend at 0-3, aiming to earn their first win in their first GSC contests of the season.
 
A season ago, the Chargers and the Bucs split with both teams defending their home pitch, but this season both contests count in the GSC standings.
 
In the game in Huntsville, Mitch Wilson scored the second goal in a 2-0 victory as Kel Markert posted the clean sheet. The score was identical in Memphis but with the eventual champions of the league taking the match.
 
In Cleveland, Miss., a year ago, the Blue and White bounced back from surrendering an early goal and went on to dominate the contest to win 4-1. Wilson also scored in that game, while Kyle Simmons had a goal and a pair of assists in the rout.
 
The Bucs have struggled some this season as they will enter Friday's game with a 1-3 record, and Delta State currently owns a 3-1 mark.
