About the Chargers
BUILDING ON THE THRILLER: The Chargers will be looking to string together some wins this weekend after picking up a stunning victory against No. 21 West Florida that saw Anthony Benitez score with one second remaining in the second period of overtime. The squad has avoided any lengthy losing streaks this season, and currently UAH has won six of its past eight contests.
SIGNIFICANT STRIDES: To say that the Chargers are vastly improved from a season ago would be a vast understatement. After scoring only 0.81 goals per game last year, that number has been more than doubled this to 1.79 scores per contest, and the team has more than cut in half the numbers of goals it has allowed from 3.06 to 1.36 this year.
GAMES TO WATCH: With the regular season winding down, UAH has already assured itself of a position in the upcoming Gulf South Conference Championships with its seed in the tournament being the only remaining question. The Chargers enter the weekend currently in third – one point behind second-place West Alabama and five points ahead of fourth-place Christian Brothers. Games for UAH fans to watch this weekend include:
Friday
Christian Brothers at West Florida
Delta State at West Alabama
Sunday
Christian Brothers at West Alabama
