Box Score MEMPHIS – Earning its second straight clean sheet, the University of Alabama in Huntsville defeated Christian Brothers 3-0 on the road on Sunday. The important conference victory over the two-time defending league champions moves the Chargers to 4-3-1 (2-3-0 GSC), while the Bucs slip to 3-5-0 (2-4-0 GSC).

For the fifth consecutive match, it was UAH who would register the game's first goal as in the 38th minute
Florent Girardin crossed it towards the center of the box where
Yuri Ivanov headed it in from near the penalty spot for his second score of the season.

With the Chargers controlling play, the score would remain 1-0 until the 73rd minute when the duo of
Mitch Wilson and
Kyle Simmons would connect for the third time this season to make it a two-goal advantage for the visiting side.

The goal is the sixth of the season for the Huntsville, native Simmons, moving him into a tie with CBU's Jose Ferraz for the league lead in scores.

Capping the scoring off in the 83rd minute,
Anthony Benitez and Wilson led a counterattack off of a failed CBU corner, and Wilson was able to put it in the back of the net for his first strike of the season.

Ferraz would be held to just two shots – neither of which were on frame – for the contest by the terrific Charger defensive effort, and
Will Carpenter posted his league-leading third shutout of the season as he stopped three shots on the day.

The Chargers held a 10-7 advantage in shots – including a 6-3 edge in attempts that reached the target – and the contest was a feisty one with 35 fouls whistled and six bookings by the referee.

UAH will look to continue to climb in the conference standings on Friday night when the team returns home for the first time in four games. Kick-off against Union at Charger Park is slated for 7 p.m.
