Box scorePENSACOLA, Fla. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team travelled to No. 21 West Florida on Friday night, dropping a 3-0 decision to the hosts. UAH slips to 9-7 (7-5 GSC), while the Argos improve to 15-2 (9-2 GSC).
West Florida won the first set by a 25-14 score, and though UAH would produce its strongest effort in the second frame, the hosts would go up 2-0 in the match with a 25-22 victory before sealing the contest with a 25-12 victory in the third.
The Argos outhit UAH on the night by a .318 to -.037 margin with Corisha Smith's .400 mark leading the way. Leading in total kills for West Florida was Cora Bidlack who owned 10 success swings. UWF was also strong defensively as the team recorded 18.5 blocks on the contest led by Sarah Scott who was in on 12 of the denials.
UAH's offensive attack was led by Oliva Bauman who had seven kills while
Ashton Baker chipped in with 15 assists. Defensively,
Kennedie Lariscy posted a team-best seven digs, and
Kendall Knisley owned three blocks.
The Chargers will return to action on Saturday as they travel to West Georgia. The first serve in Carrollton, Georgia is slated for 2 p.m. CDT.
