UAH Tops Southeastern Oklahoma in Three Sets

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team stepped out of conference play on Friday night, travelling to Henderson State to play Southeastern Oklahoma, and the Chargers won 3-0 to improve to 12-7 on the season. Southeastern Oklahoma falls to 12-10.

The Chargers won 25-16 in the first set, captured the second set in extra points by a 27-25 score, and wrapped up the match with a 25-22 win in the third.

UAH's best frame was the first when it registered a strong hitting percentage of .371 as the team registered 15 kills and just two errors. The Chargers were especially hot at the end of the set, closing it out with an 11-4 run that included three kills from Anna Claire Johnson and a pair from Kendall Knisley.

Johnson would finish the night with a team-best 16 kills, and she committed just two miscues for a solid swing rate of .378 while adding 12 digs for a double-double. Knisley also had a strong night offensively as she had eight kills and just one error on 20 attempts for a hitting percentage of .350, and Olivia Bauman joined Johnson in double figures in kills with 11.

Ashton Baker recorded her seventh double-double of the season as she picked up 39 assists to go along with 14 digs, and the senior now owns 409 assists on the season.

The Chargers will be back in action with two matches tomorrow against host Henderson State at 10 a.m. and Ouachita Baptist at 1 p.m.
