HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville (14-10, 8-8 GSC) volleyball team lost to Gulf South Conference opponent Shorter (18-3, 15-1 GSC) on Tuesday night at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall in four sets.

The Hawks took an early lead defeating the Chargers 25-15 in the first set. Shorter started well offensively with a total of 16 kills and a .325 hitting percentage at the outset of the match.

UAH battled to even the match in the second set winning by a score of 25-21. The Chargers played the Hawks closely in the third dropping the set by five points, 25-20, before falling in the fourth and final frame by a score of 25-15.

Junior
Haley Snyder posted five of her team-best 12 kills in the second-set win, and then went on to finish the contest with the highest swinging percentage on the roster at .379. Freshman
Jordan Morrison and junior
Olivia Bauman added double-digit kill totals in the loss at 11 and 10, respectively.

The Chargers defense totaled a collective 58 digs on Tuesday, with four different UAH players reaching double-digits. Sophomore
Alexis Deal and junior
Kennedie Lariscy led the squad with 12 digs apiece. Deal's 12 digs tied her season high during the match.

UAH volleyball is back in action this weekend with road matches on Friday at Mississippi College and on Sunday at Valdosta State. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. on Friday and then at noon on Sunday.
