CLINTON, Miss. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville (15-10, 9-8 GSC) volleyball team won on Friday night in four sets over Mississippi College (5-22, 0-17 GSC).
The Chargers opened the contest with a 25-21 win in the first set to take a 1-0 advantage. Freshman 
Anna Claire Johnson and junior 
Kendall Knisley led the attack for UAH, combining for nine kills and a .529 swing rate.
UAH followed up the opening-set victory with a dominating 25-15 win in the second stanza. A five-point run late in the set put the Chargers ahead, 19-7, and keyed the frame for UAH.
Mississippi College battled for a win in the third set by a score of 25-22, before UAH solidified the four-set win with a 25-15 victory in the final frame. 
Jordan Morrison and Johnson each had three kills in the fourth set.
Junior 
Haley Snyder and Johnson tied for the team lead with 10 kills apiece, with Snyder finishing with a .333 hitting percentage and Johnson ending at .296. Knisley totaled eight kills and swung .467, tops on the roster with 10 or more attacks.
Senior 
Ashton Baker recorded the lone double-double for the Chargers with a team-high 20 assists and 10 digs. 
Alexis Deal led the defense with 12 digs on Friday night.
The Chargers will now travel to GSC opponent Valdosta State for a match on Sunday at noon. UAH has three conference matches remaining in the 2014 regular season. The squad currently sits at sixth in the league with a .529 winning percentage.
