BACK IN HUNTSVILLE: After going 1-1 last weekend with a win at Union and a loss at Christian Brothers, the Chargers return to Charger Park this weekend to host Shorter on Friday night at 5 p.m. before turning around to welcome Lee at 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
Â
HOME COOKIN': The Chargers have enjoyed playing at home this season, posting a 3-2 mark in Huntsville. UAH has not been shutout at home this season and is averaging five goals per contest after scoring nine more times at Charger Park two weekends ago in the wins over Mississippi College and Delta State.
Â
CONTINUING TO EXCELL: Freshman
Alexcia Alexander continues to rank among the league's best in scoring after adding another tally last weekend at Union to give her seven goals on the season. The score was the deciding one in the contest, representing the second time this year she has scored the game-winner.
Â
STEADY PRESENCE: Maddie Maurice is currently leading the Chargers with 882 minutes played as she has started all 10 contests for UAH, and in eight of those matches Maurice has played all 90 minutes. Senior
Alex Petermann and freshman
Megan Anderson have also recorded more than 800 minutes on the year with 817 and 813, respectively.
Â
ABOUT THE LADY HAWKS: Shorter enters this weekend with an overall mark of 7-3 while owning a conference record of 2-3 in the team's first year in which it is eligible for the postseason as Shorter is now a full-fledged member of the GSC and the NCAA. Corrie Thomas leads the Lady Hawks offensively with five goals on the season, while Alden Powell has posted five shutouts in goal to go along with goals against average of 0.81.
Â
SERIES HISTORY: The all-time series between the two programs is even at 2-2-0 after UAH earned a victory in the only meeting last season. In the 3-2 victory at Shorter, the Chargers overcame a 2-0 deficit with
Maddie Maurice tying the contest and
Marie Blunt scoring from distance for the game-winner.
Â
ABOUT THE LADY FLAMES: Lee is 5-4-1 overall on the season but is 4-1-0 in conference play (however, Lee is not yet eligible for the postseason as it continues the transition to Division II), and the squad will play league-leader West Alabama on Friday before travelling to UAH. At the top of the offensive ledger for Lee is Nicole Blanchard with six goals and two assists for 14 points.
Â
SERIES HISTORY: There have been three all-time meetings between the two teams with the series even at 1-1-1. The tie came last year when the two teams played to a 1-1 draw at Charger Park with
