LIVE VIDEOBUSY START: The Chargers will start 2014-15 on the road, taking on Nova Southeastern at 6 p.m. CST on Friday before battling at Barry on Saturday at 3 p.m. CST. The team will then head back to Huntsville for the home opener when it faces Trevecca Nazarene at 5:30 p.m. on Monday night.

NEW FACES: In addition to first-year head coach
Andrea Lemmond, the Chargers welcome five freshmen to the Rocket City this season.
Caroline Dodd and
Chandler Elder were named as top newcomers to the Gulf South Conference, and Elder was strong in the two preseason tune-ups, posting 13 points, six assists and three rebounds.

KEY RETURNERS: Junior
Halle Jarnagin – who averaged more than 19 minutes per game last year – was strong in the preseason for the Chargers, leading the team in scoring in both games as she scored 18 points against Troy and 12 in the road exhibition at Middle Tennessee. Four seniors also return this season, led by
Shannon Steinert who started each contest a year ago and led the Gulf South Conference with 2.3 points per game.

ABOUT NOVA SOUTHEASTERN: NSU is the nation's fourth-ranked team and has been picked to finish second in the Sunshine State Conference after advancing to the national semifinals a season ago. Six letterwinners return from that talented squad, and the team also features two redshirt freshmen along with five other newcomers.

SERIES HISTORY: Nova Southeastern won the only previous meeting between the two programs, earning a victory in the 2012-13 season.

ABOUT BARRY: The Bucs are picked to finish fifth in the SSC, and the squad will be looking to Kaylia Richardson to lead the way this season as she scored 10.7 points per contest while grabbing 5.3 rebounds per game a season ago.

SERIES HISTORY: The Chargers have only faced Barry once, dropping a decision to the Buccaneers in the 2003-04 campaign.

ABOUT TREVECCA NAZARENE: The Trojans have been picked to win the Great Midwest Athletic Conference this season, coming off of two consecutive G-MAC regular season titles. Kaci Britt Bell is the team's leading returner after averaging 11 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest last season.

SERIES HISTORY: The series history with the Trojans is tied at 1-1, and UAH picked up a 103-69 victory over visiting TNU last season at Spragins Hall. Steinert scored 16 and Jarnagin tallied 11 in the win that was part of an NCAA-record streak of contests in which the Chargers scored more than 100 points.
