About the Chargers

  • The Chargers continue their three-game road swing on Tuesday with a trip to West Alabama – a team that UAH defeated 84-80 in the GSC opener at Spragins Hall back on Dec. 14.
  • UAH has received strong play from member of its bench at times throughout the season, and the current hot hand belongs to Taylor Chapman who has averaged 10.3 points per contest over the team's last three games while shooting 66.7 percent from the field.
  • Scoring in double figures in each of the team's last four games – including his triple-double performance against Shorter last Thursday – Conner Blasi has increased his season scoring average to 11.2 points per game which is the highest it has been since the second game of the season.
  • The Chargers currently sit at fifth in the tightly-bunched GSC standings. Delta State has but won the regular season with its 13-2 mark, while West Alabama sits in second at 11-5. North Alabama is 10-6 in third, and in fourth at 9-7 is Christian Brothers.
  • UAH continues to lead the league in 3-point field goal percentage as the team has connected on 40.7 percent of its attempts from beyond the arc. Ronnie Mack leads the league with a 3-point percentage of 44.7 percent while Wayne Dedrick is in sixth at 36.1 percent.

About the Opponent

  • West Alabama has won four straight and owns an eight-game home winning streak entering Tuesday's game. The team travelled to Shorter and defeated the Hawks 86-82 on Sunday in its most recent contest.
  • Five players are scoring in double figures for the Tigers with Sandy Underwood and Desmond Raymond leading the way with 16.8 and 16.5 points per game, respectively. Lleon Tillman leads the Tigers on the glass with 8.8 rebounds per contest while also scoring 11.1 per night.

Series History

  • UAH owns a 45-19 advantage in the all-time series with West Alabama, having not dropped a game in the series since a 79-74 setback in Livingston in the 2005-06 season – a span of 14 games.
  • UAH won the earlier meeting this year in Huntsville 84-80 as Wayne Dedrick led UAH in the contest with 26 points, while Conner Blasi recorded a double-double with a career-best 22 points to go along with 10 rebounds. The Chargers shot 53.8 percent in the contest while limiting Tuesday's hosts to a shooting percentage of 45.2 percent.
  • Last year in Livingston, the Chargers escaped town with a 57-54 victory as Jaime Smith scored 18 with Ronnie Mack adding 16 in the victory.
