About the Chargers

  • UAH will step outside of conference play for the first time since Feb. 27 on Tuesday when the second-ranked Chargers take their 21-5 record to Birmingham to take on Miles. The Chargers are a perfect 11-0 in non-conference games this season.
  • Victoria Frith has been especially impressive in non-conference contests, hitting a team-best .500 with 17 hits in 34 at-bats, and she ranks second on the squad with 11 runs driven in during play against non-GSC opponents.
  • The Chargers have started four different pitchers in non-conference play, and each of the four feature an ERA of 1.50 or less in those games. Whitney Toler has been nearly perfect in her two non-league games, giving up just one earned run in 9.1 innings for an 0.75 ERA.
  • In the team's nine road games, the team has hit at a .266 clip -- well below the overall season mark of .333. Macie Couey, however, is hitting better on the road than her average on the entire year, hitting .455 compared to .437, and she has recorded four of her GSC-best seven triples away from Charger Park.

About the Opponent

  • The Golden Bears are 7-22 overall this season while currently on a three-game losing streak, and the team has dropped six of its last seven contests. Miles has yet to defeat a team from the Gulf South Conference as they are 0-8 against the league.
  • Senior Keyana Chapman leads the offense with a team-high .400 batting average while also registering a team-best five home runs and 19 RBI.
  • Opposing offenses have taken advantage of a Miles pitching staff that has an overall ERA over six while allowing 10 or more runs in six contests this season. Freshman Grayson Culliver is leading the team with an ERA of 4.20 in the circle, and teammate Megan Honea has recorded a team leading three wins.

Series History

  • The Chargers are a perfect 10-0 against the Golden Bears while outscoring Miles by a staggering score of 44-5 in the previous four outings.
