Box Score HUNTSVILLE | The seventh-ranked University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team pushed its winning streak to a season-best nine games as the Chargers defeated visiting Christian Brothers 6-1 to sweep the weekend while moving to 33-6 (18-6 Gulf South Conference). CBU slips to 9-32 (2-22 GSC).
 
UAH has now swept two straight GSC series while winning seven consecutive conference weekends.
 
Macie Couey repeated her performance from the opening contest of the series as she once again had a three-hit game, moving her batting average to a team-best .425 on the year. The transfer from Georgia also scored twice, and she picked up two of the team's seven stolen bases in the game.
 
The Chargers now own 159 steals on the season.
 
Picking up her seventh win of the season in the circle was Taylor Doriety (7-1), and she lowered her season ERA to 2.88 to give all four of UAH's most-used starters a sub-3.00 ERA. In 4.2 innings pitched on the afternoon, she scattered four hits and struck out three while giving up just the one run.
 
Kimberly Jack tossed the final 2.1 innings.
 
After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the second, the Chargers would immediately level the contest when Mallory McNeal drove in her 10th of the season with a double into left that scored Kaitlyn Bannister, and Bannister was involved in putting UAH in front for good in the third when she recorded a sacrifice fly that brought home Couey.
 
UAH then took a commanding lead in the fourth when Victoria Frith recorded a sacrifice fly herself, Sullivan scored on a wild pitch, and Tyler Harrison doubled in Couey and Mary Kelley to put the Chargers in front 6-1.
 
The Chargers held an 11-5 advantage in hits with Sullivan having a two-hit day, increasing her average to .323 for the season.
 
Wrapping up non-conference play for the regular season, the Chargers will return to action when they head to nationally-ranked North Georgia on Wednesday.
