About the Chargers

  • The Chargers will make the trek to Jackson, Tenn., for the final road series of season, taking a 34-7 (18-6 Gulf South Conference) record on the road to Union. UAH is 14-6 on the road and has won nine of its previous 10 away contests.
  • UAH has done a great job this season bouncing back from a loss as the Chargers are 6-0 in games coming after a setback and have yet to drop two games in a row.
  • The chase to break the Gulf South Conference record for stolen bases is officially on as UAH enters the weekend with a season total of 167 – the third-best mark in league history. Valdosta State owns the top two spots in the record books as the Blazers stole 168 bases in 1994 and set the conference record of 179 in 1995.
  • Six of the GSC's best in stolen bases – not surprisingly – are UAH players as Brianna Sullivan (2nd), Victoria Frith (2nd), Macie Couey (5th), Mary Kelley (6th), Mallory McNeal (8th) and Haley Thompson (9th) are all in the top 10.
  • Mary Kelley has once again strung together a significant hitting streak as she is currently on a 16-game streak after registering an 18-game stretch of hitting safely at the start of the year that dated back to last season. During this most recent tear, she is hitting .453 (24-53) and has featured seven multi-hit games.

About the Opponent

  • Union currently boasts a 23-21 overall record with a 7-15 record in conference play and suffered a three-game sweep at the hands of West Alabama in its previous series.
  • Three players lead the Bulldog offense with a batting average above .350 while Shelby Lamb leads the team with a .405 average from the dish to go along with a team-best 15 doubles and teammate Reagan Schrader leads the way with 13 home runs and 49 RBI.
  • Kelly Robey has been a work horse for the Union pitching staff this season, starting in 31 of the team's 45 games with a record of 17-16 inside the circle and a 2.08 ERA. Robey has 29 complete games under her belt and seven have come in shutout fashion.

Series History

  • The Chargers hold a 2-0 advantage over the Bulldogs as the two teams met for the first time last year in Jackson.
