HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team completed a three-set win (25-21, 25-17, 25-20) over Gulf South Conference opponent Lee on Tuesday evening at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall.

The Chargers (7-6, 5-4 GSC) dominated the Flames (5-7, 3-4 GSC) over the course of three sets on Tuesday.

UAH jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first set, but Lee was able to fight back to tie at 9-9. However, the Chargers rebounded to take six of the next seven points to regain the lead. UAH did not surrender the lead and went on to win 25-21.

Junior Olivia Bauman posted four kills on a .400 hitting percentage during the first set, with Anna Claire Johnson, Jordan Morrison and Haley Snyder chipping in two kills apiece in the frame.

Lee hung within three points for the majority of the second set, until the Chargers put together a six point run, highlighted by two kills from Johnson, at the end to take a 24-16 advantage. UAH went on to take the second set on a ball handling error by the Flames.

The Chargers were down early in the third frame, trailing by as much as four points. UAH was able to group together to tie the match at 11-11 midway through and was within one or two points for the majority of the match. The Chargers finished off the three-set victory on a six-point run keyed by two kills from Morrison.

Johnson, a Birmingham, Alabama native, lead the offense with 12 kills, while Bauman totaled the highest hitting percentage at .333. Junior Kennedie Lariscy notched a match-high 16 digs, with freshman Kirsten Giles accruing a team-best 13 assists.
